Ralph painted Saint Peter and Judas in the 1940s. For years the picture of Saint Peter took pride of place in his home. Some 30 years later he decided to paint the rest of the disciples with a view to the pictures eventually being rendered in glass. Unfortunately to date the rendering has not been accomplished but these portraits remain some of his strongest work (they are at present housed in the Glasgow galleries repository in Nitshill).
