Ralph produced his own Christmas cards and they played a large part in his year. Work would begin in the spring in order to produce the requisite number of over one hundred.

His first woodcut was carved in 1941 while he was travelling on a troop train on his way to war. Initially the cards were wood cravings but eventually he moved to colour. From 1958 until his death in 2004 he produced a different card every year. A selected few are shown here.
